"I’m really proud of the team; we’ve worked so hard to get here," said Norris, reflecting on his performance. His winning time was 1 hour, 26 minutes, and 33.291 seconds, finishing ahead of Ferrari's Carlos Sainz by a margin of 5.832 seconds.
Sainz's impressive drive had him cross the line in second place, showcasing his consistency throughout the season. "We maximized everything we could today. I'm pleased with how the car performed in the closing stages of the race," Sainz commented after the race.
Completing a strong top three, Charles Leclerc took home third for Ferrari as well, trailing Norris by nearly 32 seconds. "We wanted to finish the year on a high note, and I think we accomplished that with the pace we showed today," Leclerc stated.
Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell also showcased their skills, finishing fourth and fifth respectively, with Hamilton commenting, "It was a tough race, but we managed to clinch some important points for the team." Russell echoed his teammate's sentiments, saying, "Consistent finishes in the top five are always encouraging, especially as we look towards the future."
The race also witnessed notable performances from Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who finished sixth after starting in a lower position. Verstappen remarked, "It wasn't the result we hoped for, but we’ll learn from this and come back stronger next season."
Alpine's Pierre Gasly and Haas's Nico Hulkenberg secured seventh and eighth positions, respectively, while veteran Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin finished ninth. "It’s always about fighting for positions, and today was no exception. We did what we could," Alonso said in a post-race interview.
Oscar Piastri, racing for McLaren, finished in tenth after starting further down the grid. "Making up places is never easy, especially in a competitive field like this, but I’m happy with our team’s overall performance this weekend," Piastri expressed.
